Greenville Has Something For Everyone!

The Northeast Texas Children’s Museum in Commerce, also offers a variety of educational and fun opportunities. Bowl, roller skate and explore history at the Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum.

Six fishing and recreational lakes are nearby, including Lake Fork, home of the Texas largemouth bass record. Public and private campgrounds, boat ramps, marinas, and two state parks.

The Arts

Performances by a variety of musicians and dance companies are part of the Greenville Entertainment Series, open to members after a subscription drive each spring. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents three concerts each year and the Threadgill Concert Series brings noted Texas musicians to the city several times each year. Other performances, including “Follies”, a musical-comedy revue benefiting local non-profits, gospel performances, high school fine arts performances and lots more occur year-round. Texas A&M Commerce, located about 20 miles northeast of Greenville, offers concerts, plays, musicals and other events.

Parks, Swimming and Sports

There’s lots to do at city parks—from Aunt Char’s Kid Zone, a giant play area, to the sports park with baseball, soccer and skating areas, to Wright Park Golf Course. The Ja-Lu swimming pool offers a water slide, wading and lap pools and play features, offering a way to cool off on a hot summer day.
